Master’s Degree in Education from Belmont University

Mrs. Melissa Gomillion

Hi! I am Mrs. Gomillion, and I am a fourth grade teacher at Minor Hill School.  I grew up in Dothan, Alabama and moved to Birmingham, Alabama during high school. After graduating from high school, I attended the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and graduated from USAFA in 1993. After graduation from college, I married my husband, Tony. Our first military assignment was in Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. My first child, Sarah, was born in North Dakota.

Our next military assignment was at Shaw AFB, SC. This is where our son, Nathan, was born. During the Gulf War, I left the military to provide stability for our children. My husband continued to serve in the Air Force until he decided to go to seminary in Dallas, TX. This is where our youngest child, Bethany, was born. I was a stay-at-home mom for thirteen years while raising our three children. When our children grew up, I went back to school to get my teaching degree. Our family lived in Texas until my husband got a job here in Pulaski. We have lived here for about ten years. My first grandchild, Paislee, was born in July of 2020. I love spending time with her.

I am certified to teach English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies in grades four to eight. I have taught fifth through eighth-grade math at Richland School, Mount Pleasant Middle School, and Bridgeforth Middle School. This is my tenth year teaching in the public school system, and it is my second year teaching at Minor Hill School. I am thankful to be here and look forward to a great year! Go Wildcats!
